ABOUT THE LIVING LIFE IN COSTA RICA BLOG

I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.
VOLUNTEER TO HELP:
Better yet - do you have extra time on your hands & looking for a volunteer project? Since this blog is a labor of love & RARELY does anyone share a donation (even though MANY have said how much it's helped them), I could REALLY use help updating info. Spanish speakers ESPECIALLY welcome since my VicLish can be somewhat limited at times!!

DONATE:
Has my blog helped in any way? Helped find something•brought more EASE? More exposure or business?

LOTS FOR SALE Pacific Costa Rica

Has your dream been to move to Costa Rica near the Pacific Coast, buy a lot and build your own Custom Built home in a nice safe community?

Are you seriously ready to buy?

ESPECIALLY these days, buying into a development with many empty lots and not many houses is REALLY risky and many of these projects are going bankrupt and MANY of those owners are getting screwed over and/or loosing everything (I like to think that many of these developers did not set out to screw the consumer over.  I think a BIG thing is many of these owners didn't plan for the economical downturn [nose dive]).
Don't you think it would be BEST to work with a developer/development company that is firmly established, debt free, have all of our infrastructure completed in phases, have built hundreds of homes, have over a thousand owners, a large community and don't need to show people "artists renditions" of what the development will look like some day?

Would you like to live in the southern Pacific region of Costa Rica (the "Southern Zone")?

Get yourself down to Costa Rica and take this

4 Day - 3 Night
ALL-Inclusive
DISCOVERY TOUR
for JUST
$299

They're so sure you will be interested in purchasing a lot through them that they're offering a 4 day DISCOVERY TOUR  almost every month, typically 4 to 5 per month.

You simply get yourself to San Jose, Costa Rica and they'll do the rest staying on the property in the developers 8,000 square foot guest house - complete with a professional chef.

These lots are in the largest residential project in Costa Rica - covering 3,200 acres in 17 phases of development.

They have their OWN WORKSHOP where they make all their own CUSTOM WINDOWS, DOORS, CABINETS, WROUGHT IRON WORK, COUNTERS++!

LOTS•HOME SITES start at $40,000 and candidly for $40,000 to $50,000 you can buy a nice fully improved home site with road, Artesian well water plumbed to the lot and electric to the lot in a large international residential community with a solid track record of 23 years developing land and building homes.

Ocean view sites cost more, even over $100,000 for a premium view lot but many owners opt for a mountain view and save the money that a big ocean view might cost. It's easy enough to go to the top of the hill and see the view when you want to.

They recently surveyed over 16,000 people to see what baby boomers are looking for in a retirement home. See the results here.

If a development you are considering hasn't gotten their permits, roads, water, electric, experience building homes, etc... be prepared for the potential that they may never complete what you were promised.

Buy what you SEE, not what they "tell you."

Now in their 23 year, you can rest assured that you will not be stuck "holding the bag".

Also realize if you are buying in a smaller development, your circle of friends might be limited, especially in off season. Living in a foreign country and feeling alone is not worth a bargain price.

Although we are the largest project in Costa Rica, we do not offer "walk in tours" since it does not provide enough time to understand what we are all about.

They offer full financing as well as a 5% discount for non financed purchases.

Their firm is debt free and all of their home sites are fully improved with road, artesian well water at the lot line and electric to each lot.

They are the largest builder of custom homes in the country and have over 400 full time employees.

There's a brand new 18 hole golf course only 2 miles from these developments, as well as a brand new hospital, a brand new highway making it MUCH faster to get to/from, over 40 restaurants and bars, hotels in town, a great community, inexpensive and frequent flights to Costa Rica, great health care, low cost of living, etc.

I can assure you that the time you spend on our tours will be the best use of your time when looking for opportunities outside the US.

They promise that there is NO sales "presentation" during the tour.

Their tour includes including airport pickup and drop off from SJO Airport, lodging, meals and adult beverages and all transportation within Costa Rica.

PLUS, they apply $250 of the visit fee toward your purchase AND give you $1,000 credit off the price of any home site • lot to go towards your travel expenses as well.
