I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.

No somos una institución pública y consecuentemente no tenemos presupuesto público, nosotros nos financiamos con recursos propios. Solicitamos CONTRIBUCIONES para ayudarnos a solventar los gastos operativos. La consulta de un psicólogo privado tiene un costo mínimo C35.000 y precisamente para que pueda ser accesible a muchas personas nosotros subvencionamos esa cifra y pedimos únicamente una contribución baja, de C15.000. No obstante, estamos conscientes de que para muchos ese monto es difícil de cubrir y por eso es que los hemos venido instando a exigir al Gobierno la creación del INAHO (Instituto Nacional del Hombre) en el que se deberá brindar asesoría psicológica y legal GRATUITA a los hombres. EXIJAN LOS MISMOS DERECHOS QUE TIENEN LAS MUJERES

MY understanding is this group is trying to get the government to start this institute to provide FREE counseling and legal advice:
INAHO
(National Institute of Man)
just as women do/have.
I believe that amongst other issues, part of it is also to help give support to men - especially for Domestic Abuse (which VERY OFTEN STARTS with women)

They are a public institution and thus we have no budget, the financed with equity. Solicit contributions to help meet operating expenses.

I wonder if there are any retired Español speaking ex-pats out there that might be able to volunteer their time here???  Give BACK to the people of Costa Rica!!!

Consultation with a Private psychologist visits are at least 35,000 so many can't afford to go to one.  This group is just charging 15,000 because they are aware that it's expensive for many men to cover.
